If you’ve been following this blog for any amount of time, you’ll know that I’m always changing the look and content on this blog. The topics have ranged from Short Stories to Inspirational Quotes to most recently, my BookTube Channel. I love that this blog is a living, breathing thing and it grows with me and what I need from a blog. To be honest, I am no longer interested in blog posts and I don’t feel the urge to write them anymore. I don’t want you all wait forever for them (like Spongebob below) when I don’t plan on doing them anytime soon.
It would seem that what I need from a blog is no longer a place for posts, but a command center. A place that holds all of my social media sites in one convenient location. A place that I don’t need to constantly update (you can probably tell by my lack of posts how much I need a place that I don’t need to constantly update.) On this blog, which is now just my name, you’ll be able to see all of my social media and what I’ve been up to. If you hover over the About Me tab above, you can be redirected to my BookTube Channel and Goodreads profile. This will be part website-part hub and I’ll still be active on my social media, I just won’t be active here. Hopefully, doing it this way will give me the free time I need to focus on what I really want to do. Which is…
In the last year or so, I have been loving BookTube and the platform to talk about everything I love about books. I am much more excited about that, so I’ll be pursuing that and putting my all into it and you’ll understandably be seeing less of me here (less than you already don’t see me, that is.) You’ll still have my social media updates to on the right sidebar and if you’d like to follow me on the social media site itself, you’ll find those links below (just click the icon you want to go to):
I hope you all have enjoyed your time here in my happy little corner of the internet. I hope you will continue to follow me on all my social media and if you’re also in love with books as much as I am, then please subscribe to my channel.
The social media age has messed up all up. We’re so concerned about tweeting, taking pictures on Instagram and choosing the right filter, and posting on facebook that we forget about living in the moment. It’s insane to be sitting in a group of people and everyone is on their phone. It’s alright to want to remember something for later, but it really just looks like you want others to know what “fun” things you’re doing. I wish we’d go back to the days when we talked to each other. When we didn’t care about the number of followers we had and how many likes our photos got. I wish I knew what happened to all of us. I’m not excluding myself. I am getting better though. Not everyone needs to know what I’m doing. I also know that time is precious and that I won’t get that moment that I was tweeting instead living again. I appreciate the time that I have and I’d rather not waste it. I’d love it if we’d all just put our phones down and talk to our friends. Ask them about themselves and what they want to do with their lives. Do you know what your friend’s favorite color is? Do you know what your parents wanted to be when they grew up? Go ask them and pay attention to what they have to say. Don’t worry about what your next social media update should be and just live. You may be surprised by what you learn. I know I was when I started talking to my parents about themselves. It was great getting to really know my parents and some of the things that they did. You never really know a person until you sit down face to face and talk with them.
In case you are wondering why I have been MIA for the last couple days, it is because my body is conspiring against me once again. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I’m sick. I couldn’t tell you how, but my nose has been running and I have been basically miserable. Do not worry, for I will not be defeated by a simple cold or allergies or whatever the heck this is. I plan on giving you all more and I feel like I have been saying that for the past couple of weeks. Geez, I must do better, but between this nose and this bad connection, I just don’t know.
But, since you’re here, I’ll give you some updates:
I got a guitar. Why? Because I could and I’ve already learned a song. Yay me!!
I’ve been reading a lot. I told myself I would read at least one book a month, but I think I’ll get through at least 3.
And now for the final announcement (drum roll please) I’m going to the movies! This may not seem like a big thing, but it is. I’m seeing The Grandmaster!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait.
That’s all. If I think of anything else I will be sure to let you all know. Until next time!
