Welcome to my happy little corner of the Internet also known as the Maya Speight Command center. I wanted a place where I could put all of my social media content in one convenient location, so I shifted some things around and created the site where you’ve now found yourself.

Let me show you around…

Above the Maya Speight Header (pictured below), you’ll find the menu.

Home takes you, of course, home, meaning the main page.

About Me is a little more interesting. Click on it and you’ll find out more about me and this corner of the internet. Hover over it and you’ll see a dropdown menu which will take you to my BookTube Channel and Goodreads Profile.

Contact should be self-explanatory, but in case it isn’t, click Contact for how to get in contact with me should you want to say hi, are interested in partnering on a project, etc.

To the right of the blog post feed in the right sidebar (see picture), you’ll find all my social media.

right sidebar

At the very top is me and a short blurb of who I am. If you’re here, you probably already know who I am, but if not, Hi! I’m Maya.

Next (2nd from the top) is facebook. Honestly, I’m not on there that much, but I do have followers who use only facebook so I like to keep that avenue open for them.

Third from the top is the twitter feed which consists entirely of the fun stuff I found on the internet that I’ve retweeted.

Lastly is instagram. You’ll see me most there, generally once a day, sometimes a few times a week. That feed consists of pictures of books, food and my face (not necessarily in that order.)

If you’d rather cut out the middle man and just follow me on the social media site itself, my links are below. (just click the icon and you’ll be redirected to my page on the site.)

Thanks for visiting!

❤ Maya

Things are Changing (Again)

Things are Changing (Again)

If you’ve been following this blog for any amount of time, you’ll know that I’m always changing the look and content on this blog. The topics have ranged from Short Stories to Inspirational Quotes to most recently, my BookTube Channel. I love that this blog is a living, breathing thing and it grows with me and what I need from a blog. To be honest, I am no longer interested in blog posts and I don’t feel the urge to write them anymore. I don’t want you all wait forever for them (like Spongebob below) when I don’t plan on doing them anytime soon.

Maya will post eventually…

It would seem that what I need from a blog is no longer a place for posts, but a command center. A place that holds all of my social media sites in one convenient location. A place that I don’t need to constantly update (you can probably tell by my lack of posts how much I need a place that I don’t need to constantly update.) On this blog, which is now just my name, you’ll be able to see all of my social media and what I’ve been up to. If you hover over the About Me tab above, you can be redirected to my BookTube Channel and Goodreads profile. This will be part website-part hub and I’ll still be active on my social media, I just won’t be active here. Hopefully, doing it this way will give me the free time I need to focus on what I really want to do. Which is…

In the last year or so, I have been loving BookTube and the platform to talk about everything I love about books. I am much more excited about that, so I’ll be pursuing that and putting my all into it and you’ll understandably be seeing less of me here (less than you already don’t see me, that is.) You’ll still have my social media updates to on the right sidebar and if you’d like to follow me on the social media site itself, you’ll find those links below (just click the icon you want to go to):

I hope you all have enjoyed your time here in my happy little corner of the internet. I hope you will continue to follow me on all my social media and if you’re also in love with books as much as I am, then please subscribe to my channel.

Love you all!

February BookTube Recap

February BookTube Recap

Have you missed my BookTube videos? Well, don’t you worry. Here they are, conveniently in one location in the order in which I uploaded them. Now you can marathon them or just watch the ones you missed. I thought I’d try out this format for sharing my videos with you all. Instead of an individual post for each video, I figured I’d put them all in one post. I hope you enjoy! And if you would like to stay up to date on my videos, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkMVxL4PKW9rHkDHPO4-tdA

I read 6 books in January! High-five to me!

Seven Vital Steps to Receiving the Holy Spirit by Kenneth E. Hagin
The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson
The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams
Undercover by Danielle Steel
The Paradox of Vertical Flight By Emil Ostrovski
Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

In January, I participated in my first readathon, the #24in48 readathon. I only read for 6 hours, but seeing as how it was first readathon of the year, I’m still pretty proud of myself.

I also completed two of Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenges.
The Glass Menagerie (Read a Play)
The Circle Maker (Read a Book about Religion)
I’m surprised that I even completed one challenge, so I’m optimistic that I’ll be able to complete many more.

February TBR

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (btw his last name is pronounced Door)(*RHC)
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathon Safran Foer (*RHC)
The Good Goodbye by Carla Buckley
Empire of Night by Kelley Armstrong (second book in the Sea of Shadows Series)

Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel. I make new videos every Wednesday.
